Order Your TN State Slow Down, Move Over License Plate Today

A new Tennessee specialty license plate is now available for preorder, carrying a powerful and personal message: Slow Down, Move Over. Created to raise awareness and protect tow truck drivers, Bradi Collins and Delinda Scarborough, both members of the towing community in Northwest Tennessee, worked together to design the plate and move it into its preorder phase.“When drivers see it, I hope it reminds them to slow down, move over, and think about the families behind the lights,” said Bradi Collins of Buddy’s Wrecker Service. The initiative is being championed by State Representative Rusty Grills with strong support from the Tennessee Tow Truck Association. Before production can begin, 1,000 plates must be preordered statewide. Each purchase helps spread awareness and supports ongoing efforts to protect roadside professionals across Tennessee.“This has been a true team effort,” said Collins. “Our goal was to create a design that stands out and speaks up — a bold reminder that slowing down and moving over can truly save a life.” The black and-yellow plate design features a bold hook-and-chain emblem with the American flag and the words “Save a Life – Slow Down, Move Over.” It’s both a safety message and a memorial, honoring the men and women who keep Tennessee’s roads safe every day.

About the Campaign

The Slow Down Move Over initiative raises awareness for Tennessee’s Move Over Law, which requires drivers to slow down and change lanes for emergency, utility, and service vehicles stopped on the roadside. Every year, dozens of tow operators are killed while assisting motorists — tragedies that can be prevented by a simple act of care and caution.
